Lauren Steinbach

Lauren Steinbach began her writing journey in college while majoring in literature. It was there that she discovered a deep and lasting love for language, storytelling, and the written word.

In her younger years, Lauren drew inspiration from literary songwriters such as Bob Dylan and poets such as Richard Brautigan. Their imaginative use of language, unconventional perspectives, and poetic storytelling helped shape her developing voice as a writer.

She spent many evenings in coffee shops, scribbling thoughts into journals and piecing together words that gradually became poems and short stories. As her confidence grew, Lauren began sharing her writing at spoken-word events, allowing her work to move from the private pages of her journals into public spaces.

Over time, those poems, reflections, stories, and personal observations began to form a larger body of work. Lauren ultimately decided to bring them together as a literary collection, resulting in Flopped Love, Flipped Mystics, and Dream Portraits.

Her writing explores emotion, memory, love, mysticism, imagination, and the unexpected ways ordinary experiences can reveal deeper meaning.
